Iran envoy stresses stepped-up cooperation with Turkmenistan

TEHRAN, Dec. 09 (MNA) – Iranian ambassador to Turkmenistan has stressed the need for expansion of bilateral relations with the neighboring country of Turkmenistan.

Ali Mojtaba Roozbahani, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan, and Yaqub Ali Nazari, Governor of Khorasan Razavi, held a meeting at the governor's office in Mashhad on Saturday afternoon.

After the meeting, the ambassador said that the most important issues that were discussed in the meeting were the expansion of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan, the place of Khorasan Razavi in those ties, facilitation of transportation and transit in trade, gas etc between the two sides. 

Roozbahani expressed hope that "soon we will be able to plan the visit of the governor of Khorasan Razavi to Merov province of Turkmenistan so that we can closely monitor some of the cooperation between the two countries from the direction of Khorasan Razavi province."
